Dublin in Southern ireland, tens of thousands of rock fans made their
way to Punchestown Racecourse in Naas for one of the most anticipated
gigs of the year.
I was lucky enough to be one of them. BonJovi were headlining,
Razorlight and Kid Rock were support, how could
this fail? The answer is it couldn't, Kid Rock was superb, Razorlight a
little subtle in their perofrmance but great non the less.
Of course Bon Jovi stole the show(they show as much energy in their
performances now as they did when they first appeared on the scene),
giving us a trip through their back catalogue and few nice covers
thrown in for good measure, a female fan jumping Jon mid-song couldn't
slow things down either, all in all after two encores we all left on a
high that has taken a few days to subside.
(my only fault was that organiser had too few people maintaining order at bus queues and
there were a few instances of Crowd rage as people jumped lines etc)
But this was a concert that many will talk about for years to come and many
like myslef will sit on a winters night and stare at the cowboy hat
they bought for the day and wonder when they can justifyiably wear it
again.
Here's hoping Garth Brooks dusts his off and there's my opportunity.
